Adblue is for all today's modern diesel engines with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology. It is a colourless liquid that consists of urea and demineralized water. Adblue is injected in the vehicle's catalyst of the SCR system and it then triggers a chemical reaction with the ammonia. This chemical reaction converts the toxic nitrogen oxides (NOx) into nitrogen (N2) and water vapor (H2O). These are therefore natural gasses which are harmful to our environment.
The main active component is ammonia.
Urea is also a feature in adblue.
